Defining Global Citizenship: From Philanthropy to Activism

Contributing to the common good takes many forms, from individual acts of philanthropy to ongoing patterns of social activism.
1) How can individual philanthropists make the best use of their resources? What successful frameworks exist inside and outside the region?
2) Do companies have a responsibility to the wider community, or should they simply contribute funds to “specialist” institutions?
3) What can ordinary members of society do to become active global citizens? How can such activism be encouraged?
