Oh, and by the way, as you meant to get personal: I’m an actor, musician and writer, so (if I’ve any talent at all) I’d say deep emotions are pretty much around me all the time.

I guess I’ve no problems with deep emotions, but I may be wrong, who knows.
Anyway, as I said before, there are many TED talks about much more important topics. These other talkers are also much more passionate - without crying.
When comparing philantropy with the ultimate effects of global climate disruption, I must say this woman is crying for petty bussiness. Philantropy is an important matter nonetheless, but is not as far reaching as the death of millions.

Interesting, but most of other TED “talkers” can manage being passionate without crying. I think it kind of breaks the TED spirit and makes this talk poorer.

It’s funny how …
It’s funny how people all throughout history, including Katherine Fulton in this video, think that the present is unprecedented and unique, that it is a time in history like no other, that so many things are happening that never happened before. What we see is just another, different aspect of democracy that is being realized: democratic philanthropy. If there were ever going to be any “social singularity”, it would be the French Revolution.

Discovering one’s own mind, finding a state you’re content with. Otherwise even philanthropy is a running away from present misery.
I believe that if people dare to stop swimming for a moment, they’ll discover there’s ground to stand on. From there on we can spread our contentment, not our despair for a better world.
The struggle keeps the struggle alive, but it can stop when it reaches you.
