Should people who give make themselves known to everyone else or is it in fact better that philanthropy remain faceless? For the good of everyone which do you think is better and why?

I have a desire to do something in my community along with the my organization. I would like to do something to make a difference, but I know that's not always possible. I've only planned small events before like small presentations and what not. Does anybody have any advice on organizing events that help the community, or any ideas that can help??
possibly they already have ideas….but dont have the manpower…find a charity you agree with….and assist them ….watch…look…learn and then it might give you a better idea on what you would like to do when you organise one yourself : )
